"Welcome to the 10 Ceremony everyone!" The friendly man grinned. He was, I guess you could call, the mayor of their little town. His power or "gift" as he liked to call them, was the ability to sense what power you had. That is why he created this ceremony in the first place. Age ten is the latest your power comes. If you didn't have it by then that means you wouldn't be getting it. Benigno (or Bingo as everyone called him) clapped his hands together, looking at 20 or so kids that had lined up alphabetically already. He knew them all by name, the sweet kids. He enjoyed this yearly ceremony.

Ansa waved at her best friend, Haluk the nature-lover, and he gave her his charming smile. Even at his age, he could swoon a heart. He was a cute one.

Ansa's eyes sparked with amusement. He was before her (his last name was Bai; hers was Paris). When Bingo got to Haluk, he took his hand in his and closed his eyes for a moment. "You are a normal," He murmured, giving Haluk a gentle smile. Haluk didn't return it and instead looked at the ground to hide his disappointment. Bingo went down the line, telling each child if they had a power or not, and what it was if they did. When he got to Ansa, Michael put a hand on her shoulder in support, as if reminding her that it didn't matter what she was.

Bingo gave Ansa a smiled just for her and said, "May I?" Ansa blushed and took her hand from behind her back, muttering an apology as she did so, and put it in his. He closed his eyes, reading her, but when he opened his eyes again, the happiness had left them.

"What is it?" Sandra whispered in fear, noticing the look right away, "What's wrong?"

"She has a gift…" Bingo started, but then didn't continue, not wanting too, as if saying it out loud would make it true.

"And?" Michael strained to keep the growl from his voice, his grip tightening on his daughter's shoulder protectively.

Bingo met his gaze bravely and replied, "She's immortal."

A cry escaped Sandra's lips. "No! That's impossible!" She collapsed onto her knees beside Ansa and took her in her arms. "My baby can't be immortal… It's impossible…" She started to cry into Ansa's hair, clutching her tightly. Michael kneeled down beside them both, murmuring soothing words to his wife, trying to calm her down as Ansa made no sound at all.

Ansa's eyes met Haluk. They both had a confused look in their eyes, not really understanding what the big deal was.

Bingo looked away respectively and moved on down the line so the attention would shift away from the poor family.

Once he finished he stepped up to the front, smiling and started to say something when a flying arrow come out of nowhere. It landed on the roof of a house, everyone staring at it in shock, when it exploded. The house went up in flames instantly.

"'The City!' They've found us!" someone screamed loudly over all the chaos.

Bingo was trying to help the people but a gunshot rang out, causing him to fall dead in a matter of seconds. Everyone froze as a man came out of the smoke of the fire, with an army of men and women behind him. He blew on the top of his gun, cooling it down, smirking the whole time.

"Ryu," Michael growled, pushed his wife and child behind him.

"Hello brother," the man -Ryu- smiled.

Brother? Ansa thought confused. I have an uncle?

Ansa woke with a start, shooting up in her bed... and bonked head's with Gareth.

"Ouch!" he yelped, jumping away quickly then started to rub his forehead.

"Are you related to Ryu?" the question quickly went past her lips before she could stop it.

"Who?" Gareth glanced at her confused, putting his hand down.

"Ryu," she noticed the red bump on his forehead and murmured a quickly apology then asked again, "Are you?"
